Throughout the week of the festival we held a series of childrens events at the Library. Here our very own Alex Monnington helps build castles at the library on Monday 10th May. The event took place after school and children used the book by Claire Beaton, “Make Your Own Castle”.They took the book home after the event to finish off colouring in the press-out knights, jousting horses and weapons and complete their medieval castle. Over 20 children with their parents had a really good sticking and colouring afternoon.
Alice O’Neill read stories for children on Thursday afternoon. The picture shows Alice, Frances and some of the children. This was one of two story-telling sessions held at the library during the festival. On Friday, “Lady Tabitha” read “The Little Mermaid” which is available as a book and CD from Kenilworth Books. Both were a great success with the young audience.
