Hello to everyone,
I am really excited to be able to launch our new website and with it, my blog! I hope to use this blog to keep you up to date with our many events and offers but also to give you an insight into our lives running Warwick's only independent bookshop.
To introduce ourselves, for those of you we haven't met yet. I’m Mog and my background is in theatre design and youth work, and having been Warwick born and bred, I then spent some years working in Italy and France before being delighted to get the opportunity to return to Warwick where my parents Philip and Claire Harris still live and will be known to many of you. My wife, Pauline studied economics and foreign languages, and until recently was the director of a youth charity. Born in Metz in North-East France she is fluent in English, French and Italian, and also like dabbling in Polish and Russian. My parents came to visit us in France for Christmas 2014 and brought with them the news that Warwick Books was up for sale. We love a good challenge and were thrilled at the opportunity of running a business together. We are settling in, learning about the shop and are full of ideas for its future.
It has been an exciting few months, meeting our regulars and holding several Meet the Author events. We have even won a prize!
I will be posting a number of reviews of our previous events and you can keep an eye on our website for upcoming events and recommended reads. We are very happy to share your own book reviews and information about local events, so do get in touch if we can be of any help, We are keen to support our local community who have already been so supportive of us.
