As part of Kenilworth Festival we organised for Marcus Berkmann to come and give a talk about his latest book ‘Ashes To Ashes’ which is his history of watching the Ashes series. The event took place inside the cricket pavilion on a Sunday afternoon with a cricket match going on in the background. Tea and delicious homemade cake was served, courtesy of the Club. So it was a quintessentially English occasion, and was certainly enjoyed by all. Marcus told us lots of amusing stories about the ups and as he said mainly downs of being a suppoter of England, and fielded questions from a very interested audience afterwards. We are all grateful to Kenilworth Cricket Club for hosting such a pleasant event. A few signed copies of Marcus’s book are still available.
