Spending An Evening With Martin Bell

May 13th, 2010

bellnbellmbellzAn audience of about 60 people enjoyed an evening with Martin Bell in our most recent ‘Meet The Author’ event. Martin described his evening as a wonderful occasion and said in our Visitors Book that it was probably the nicest event that he had done. He thought the location…the medieval hall of Lord Leycester’s Hospital..was truly spectacular, and he liked the rapport soon built up with the intelligent audience (with the aid of a glass of wine for all, coutesy of Underwoods of Warwick).  His talk ranged over the scandal of MPs expenses, the view of things from the front in Afghanistan, and what we should do to improve our parliamentary democracy. He fielded a wide range of questions, and then signed copies of his book ‘A Very British Revolution’. Everyone really enjoyed the talk and feedback has been great. Thanks are due in particular to Icon Books, Martin’s publisher, Colonel Lesinski for once again letting us use the hall, and Underwoods who provided the delicious wine. We still have a few signed copies of the book available.
