A Review By Frances
Ali Ferguson has been living with his Mum in his grandparents’ house, rather squashed up but cosy and secure. At last his Mum manages to get them their own place to live and they move into no 22 Lever Tower, a flat in a tall tower block. He quickly makes friends with one of their neighbours, Caitlin, but he is not so sure about Caitlin’s father, Dave. Another new friend is Gez. Gez comes from a big family whose mother seems permanently distracted, so the three children are left to use their vivid imaginations and get up to mischief . When the dog Caitlin has been looking after for a neighbour and the neighbour herself, Miss Osborne, both vanish, it is a brilliant opportunity to play detectives, but the three children get themselves involved in something that is certainly no game…
This is another of the Warwickshire School Library Service’s selection for an author prize and well worth reading, despite the rather lurid cover!
