A Review by Georgie

Donna is a freak. An outcast. Branded with iron tattoos that cover her hands and arms, she is cursed with a magically-enhanced strength that she does everything she can do to hide.
But now, the dark exiles of Faerie are coming and Donna must choose between saving her best friend – or betraying one of the world’s greatest secrets.

The Iron Witch looked promising, with an intriguing cover and a captivating plot. However, the book is written as though the reader already knows all the secrets. For example the secret about Donnas’ hands was not revealed to the reader until about three quarters into the book, although this may be intriguing it’s also highly annoying as several situations do not make sense because we don’t know the vital information. I found the main plot interesting but the main scene of the book wasn’t until the last few pages which made it rushed. The conclusion was disappointing as, although, there will be a sequel, nearly no questions were answered and it felt more like a chapter ending then The End. It was not a bad book, it had a good plot, developed characters and an original take on a fantasy themed book, it was just disappointing and I look forward to the sequels release in the hope that the Iron Witch can be redefined.
